The DisableFacebook Project -
This has been something that I have wanted to do for a while, but have not had the right timing to implement. On February 1, 2011, I will be disabling my facebook for an entire month. It is my goal to see how many people care about me enough to contact me via text or phone call, or even email if that is what they use as their mechanism to get in touch with me.
There are too many times that I resort to Facebook in order to vent or in order to see how my friends are doing via pictures or status updates. This Project will enable me to contact those of whom I have interest in talking to on a regular basis as well - so its not only a test for others but a test for me too.
I think I, like the rest of the world, take networking for granted by using Facebook or Twitter to do so. February, at this point looks to be the biggest month for me as I will be going on vacation to Puerto Rico and February 22 is my 23rd birthday as well. The Superbowl is that month too and Christina will be singing the National Anthem, which is something I will definitely want to chat about…
For these stated reasons, I believe February is the best month to test how long I can go without Facebooking! I will continue to use the internet as a filter as to what is going on in the world and I will continue to blog - but it will not be tagged to Twitter or Facebook…
Let’s see how well this works!
